About us
The Institute for International Product Safety GmbH (I2PS GmbH) offers its customers a wide range of testing services in the electrical engineering, electronics and environmental specification fields.
In the Test Laboratory Bonn of the I2PS GmbH, tests and experiments are carried out rapidly, reliably and at a low cost in compliance with national and international standards, using state-of-the-art test equipment and measuring techniques. Services include material tests; environmental simulation such as climatic, vibration, degree of protection and EMC tests; and even short-circuit and internal arc tests with currents up to 300,000 amperes. Furthermore, state-of-the-art analysis tools are available for more detailed investigations, such as high-speed video, laser vibrometer, and X-ray equipment.
The necessary level of competence, experience and independence are important criterion for evaluation of a test laboratory. National and international institutions have assessed and accredited the Test Laboratory Bonn according to these criteria.

For many years, I2PS has been authorized by the North American certification bodies to perform and document tests for all customers according to North American standards for low-voltage. Within the scope of its agreement, I2PS offers customers extensive support in enabling fast and cost-efficient approvals of products by the North American certification bodies.
To bring customers closer to the aim of "one-stop testing", with access to world markets with only one test report, I2PS is collaborating with UL International Germany. This enables the CB Scheme certification for industrial switchgear and switchgear assemblies to be offered jointly.
The CB Scheme of the IECEE is a procedure currently practised in 47 countries that is based on the mutual recognition of certificates and test reports.

Internationally, the Test Laboratory Bonn is recognised by the LOVAG (Low Voltage Agreement Group) - a European group of agreement bodies for industrial low-voltage equipment, as a LOVAG accredited test laboratory and is assigned in the register with ID no. D 01. Test laboratories from an accredited laboratory are the basis for an internationally recognised certificate. This certificate can be issued on request by the German certification body ALPHA (Association for the Testing and Certification of Low-voltage Equipment).
